I am most grateful for...
by Robin Meritt
God, my children, my family (huge family!), my friends, my church family, being a woman, having experienced a 25 year marriage with the same man, being able to relate deeply to other people, the freedoms I have in AMERICA (but I am worried that our freedoms are disappearing...), The Constitution of the United States of America, sunny days with bright blue skies and white puffy clouds, sleeping with the sound of rain hitting the roof, a huge bucket of popcorn and a large Coke while watching a great movie at the theatre with my daughter, sitting in my living room staring out of the bay window watching the snow pile up, going to the Peaks of Otter on a gorgeous fall day, football season, Virginia Tech, the fact that both of my kids are/will be at VT and that VT is only a little over an hour away, all of my high school classmates (we are a close group and we are planning our 30th high school reunion), facebook (reconnected with so many friends, plus finding everyone for our 30th reunion has never been easier), being friends with Phil Vassar b/c I love that he made it to the top and he is doing what he loves and I like hearing his stories as well as his music, my town, my home, my amazing neighbors all around me (LOVE them), indoor plumbing, makeup, hair products (everyone else should be grateful I have access to these things also!), SBI!, tulips, Nags Head, all beaches and oceans, today's technology, and I could go on and on and on and on.
If I had to pick ONE thing I am grateful for, it would be knowing Jesus and the fact that I willingly chose him to be the Lord of my life and my Savior as a 4 year old little girl -- and I understood exactly what I was doing even though I was so young.
