Grateful for a second chance

by MIchael Baggett
(Gardendale, Al)

I'm 50 and lost my wife in 2009 suddenly to illness and my mother just 9 weeks before this. My world was rocked and turned upside down. I felt for awhile as if I was sailing without a compass.

Faith in God and the Bible and prayer helped me through it all. Good friends I could call anytime really helped me make some tough days.

I made a decision about one month after my wife's death that I was not going to live in the past and say, my life is over; rather, I'm going to look ahead and live again.

Soon, I was willing to reach out to the opposite sex and communicate. I met a fine lady who had been praying for someone like me. We hit it off. We married 7 months later and are so happy.

What a wonderful life I have having started completely over in life. With the help of God and friends and a determination to go on and live, I can say life is approaching better than ever!

Never give up. It can be better. It can be great. You can make it happen with a litle help from God and friends.
