Free Credit Card Counseling

If one means "no out of pocket costs" when one searches for free credit card debt counseling, there is no such animal.

Whether you look at debt consolidation or debt management programs, or any of the other types of programs available, there is always a cost to get out of debt, a fee assessed some way or somehow, and those can be illegal too, which makes the problem worse if one is not careful.

The only resources which I have seen that are free are Debtors Anonymous, based on the 12 step model, where you donate according to your ability at meetings, and the community side of Debt Care Consolidation, which does offer a professional side.
