Are You Craving Chocolate?

Then You Are In the Right Place!

"There are four basic food groups: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, and chocolate truffles."

Did You Know...?

ScienceDaily (2010-06-28) -- For people with hypertension, eating dark chocolate can significantly reduce blood pressure. Researchers combined the results of 15 studies into the effects of flavanols, the compounds in chocolate which cause dilation of blood vessels, on blood pressure.

ScienceDaily (2008-12-23) -- Dark chocolate is far more filling than milk chocolate, lessening our craving for sweet, salty and fatty foods, according to new research. In other words, eating dark chocolate may be an efficient way to keep your weight down over the holidays.

ScienceDaily (2007-09-12) -- Chocolate is the most widely and frequently craved food, but our passion for chocolate, and its effects on mood, is due mainly to its principal constituents, sugar and fat, and their related orosensory and nutritional effects, rather than any addictive properties of chocolate.

ScienceDaily (2008-11-16) -- A walk of just fifteen minutes can reduce chocolate cravings. The benefits of exercise in helping people manage dependencies on nicotine and other drugs have previously been recognized. Now, for the first time, newly-published research shows that the same may be true for food cravings.

I am looking forward to working on this page. I love chocolate, in fact, that is about all the sweet stuff that I eat. The rest of my family will eat anything sweet, but I am a snob, only chocolate.

And now I can justify it, because dark chocolate delivers bioflavanoids, which are important antioxidants, which are so important to your brain's longevity and function.

So I am a bit of a rookie at cooking with chocolate and I do not know the niceties of serving it, but I know what I like, and I am up to learning the rest of it.

I am going to write about chocolate in all of its niceties and subtleties, as an antioxidant, as a aphrodisiac, as a sensual treat, and even as a child behavior modification tool.

If only the cats would eat it.

Dark chocolate has health benefits, for our brains, our blood pressure, even our moods, but I am here to sell you chocolates the indulgence. And there are some incredible indulgences available to us.

One caution, please mix some dark chocolate in.

Very early in my personal growth experience, a wise person taught me to use the phrase "gratitude is the attitude" when I was resentful or afraid and that phrase has helped me feel better tens of thousands of times.
