Couples Counseling Books The Professionals Use

As a veteran couples counseling book reader, I have found that it is best to go where the researchers are to look for tips and tidbits for myself and my clients. That usually means looking at professional journals and text books for my reading.

So the best seller guru may have put together something appealing to a lot of couples counseling books consumers, but translating that guru concept to a session with a couple who are struggling with parenting issues for example, or conflict within blended families, or the aftermath of domestic violence is not an easy task.

The researchers however are looking to test their hypothesis in a way which may or may not validate their ideas, and that information, coupled with my experience, will give me tools that can make a difference in the here and now of a couples relationship.

Following are links to text books which you can rent or perhaps buy a chapter or two of for your own reading. If you are a student perhaps you buy the chapters that your Professor assigns. In other words, you can take a look at material that professionals use and I hope you pay attention to the bibliographies of the chapters and the texts also.

There can be some real nuggets there, so this searching for reliable couples counseling books information can be tedious, that is true, but the payoff is knowledge and ideas that you can try out for yourself.

Would You Share What You Are Most Grateful For?

Very early in my personal growth experience, a wise person taught me to use the phrase "gratitude is the attitude" when I was resentful or afraid and that phrase has helped me feel better tens of thousands of times.

Would you share your favorite gratitude story by clicking here? Your story may be just what another person needs to renew themselves.

Your story becomes part of this website (which shows the site's most recent pages) and a permanent part of Ask Mike the Counselor2 for others to read!
